Frequently asked questions
Why is 1440p the new standard in 2026?
In 2026, 27-inch 1440p monitors cost between €200 and €350, the hardware to run them well is affordable and the visual difference from 1080p is very noticeable. It's the perfect balance: a better image than Full HD without the extreme cost of 4K. Most gamers upgrading their PC in 2026 go straight for 1440p.
DLSS 4 or FSR at 1440p: which gives the better image?
NVIDIA's DLSS 4 delivers the best image quality at 1440p thanks to its purpose-trained neural network. AMD's FSR 4 is a very competitive alternative that works on any GPU. If you have an RTX 5000 card, use DLSS 4 Quality. If you have an RX 9000, use FSR 4 Quality. Both significantly improve performance with no noticeable visual loss.
RX 9070 XT or RTX 5070 for 1440p in 2026?
They are the two go-to GPUs for 1440p in 2026. The RX 9070 XT offers a better price and more VRAM. The RTX 5070 has DLSS 4 and better ray tracing performance. If you mainly play AAA games without ray tracing, the RX 9070 XT is the best value. If you want ray tracing or use applications that take advantage of CUDA, the RTX 5070 is the better pick.
